McGurk Racing and Engineering
350cc DRIXTON HONDA
Phil worked with Chris Hughes Racing with the aim of producing a bike that would be light, fast and reliable.
The partnership got off to an exhilarating start, with Phil finishing 7th overall and 1st Privateer in their first year. In 2015 he finished 2nd overall and 1st Privateer.
The bike achieved a 100% finish rate while Phil was responsible for the engineering, and was consistently within the top eight of the competition.

A FIRST IN SPEED & EXCELLENCE
Phil worked with Dave Hardman over the winter of 2013 to rebuild and make race-ready the Classic Senior bike known as Goldie.
Within two years Phil had modified and developed the bike into the first BSA Gold Star to achieve a 100mph lap around the Mountain Course.
In 2018 Phil set new records, averaging over 100mph for the
four-lap Mountain Course and setting a new single-lap record
of 101.961 mph.

Preparing a motorcycle for the Mountain Course means paying attention to every detail. Phil's engineering approach is about developing and preparing each machine to meet the demands of road racing.
In 2026 Phil decided to build a sister bike to Goldie, creating new, hand-made parts throughout the machine.
For her first outing she achieved a 101.5mph lap in the Senior race before failing to finish due to ignition rota failure.
Next year will see the bike back on the Isle of Man Mountain Course with Project 105 firmly in her sights.
Phil's Classic TT career combines racing experience with the engineering and preparation of his machines.
