THE FRANKENSAKI

Phil McGurk's 650 Super Twin was built by Phil himself, from scratch, with the aim of creating a machine capable of winning on the demanding Isle of Man Mountain Course.

The result was the bike that became known as 'Frankensaki' — a heavily engineered 650cc Super Twin that Phil would take to victory in the 2010 Ultra Lightweight Manx Grand Prix.

THE 2010 MANX GRAND PRIX

The 2010 Ultra Lightweight race became one of the defining achievements of Phil's racing career.

Phil established new lap and race records.
His final lap was recorded at 112.572 mph, while his overall race time was 1 hour 21 minutes 47.48 seconds, a full 70 seconds ahead of second place., Rab Davie.

ENGINEERING FOR THE MOUNTAIN COURSE

Winning on the Isle of Man is about more than outright speed. The Mountain Course places enormous demands on both rider and machine.

Phil's approach has always been to re-engineer his machines to extract the performance he believes is possible while making them capable of enduring the demands of the course.

THE RESULT

The Frankensaki delivered exactly what Phil had set out to achieve — victory at the Manx Grand Prix and a place in the record books.
